Banana Nutella Muffins

I grew up on Nutella. I like to think of it as a healthy treat because you can spread it on bread. And only healthy things like jam and...butter...go on bread, right? Please don't convince me otherwise.

I knew I had to do a Nutella cupcake or muffin recipe, and what better ingredient to add to it than bananas?! Mr. Sweets and I enjoy this delicious Banana Nutella milkshake from this shop, and that was my inspiration. Plus, I wanted to surprise Mr. Sweets. Hopefully he will like them as much as I do! Because honestly, these are the most amazing muffins I have ever had.

Perfectly shaped. Easy to make. Totally worth it...and healthy-ish?

The first bite you take is Heaven. It is super moist inside. The banana isn't overwhelming, and there's just a hint of Nutella...perfecto!

Basic muffins from this recipe.

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose/plain flour
1/2 cup sugar...I wonder how it would taste with brown sugar? I will try that next time!
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
1 banana, sliced in 1/2 inch pieces
2 tablespoons Nutella

~ Preheat the oven to 200 C / 400 F
~ Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl
~ Melt the butter and leave to cool at room temperature
~ Beat the egg in a medium bowl
~ Add sugar, milk and vanilla to the egg
~ Pour 1/4 of the butter into the egg mixture at a time, stirring in between each time until all of the butter is mixed in
~ Get distracted by Britain's Got Talent :/  oops
~ Mash up the bananas in a bowl and mix the nutella into it
~ Add the banana-nutella mixture into the liquid ingredients and mix!
~ Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined! Don't mix too long!
~ Pour batter into a greased and floured muffin tin, add a dollop of nutella on top of each muffin and bake for 15-20 minutes!
~ You should get about 12-13 muffins out of this!

Warning: You won't want to share these at all. I know I said that these were a surprise for Mr. Sweets, but I've already eaten 2 and who knows how many more I will eat before he returns!!

Smooches!! xoxo
