Mmmm guacamole. I know it's not Cinco de Mayo, but since I didn't celebrate, I needed to make up for it! I had my girlfriends coming over for a girls night and I really wanted to make some homemade food! Guacamole is the perfect party food!
Doesn't lime scream Summer to you? Not too loud, please.
I haven't shared this with you yet, but I love avocado. And cilantro. Cilantro reminds me of my favorite restaurant, Chipotle. Oh, cilantro is "coriander" here in case you are confuscious!
Mr. Sweets and I have been arguing about what proper tortilla chips are. He says Doritos are tortilla chips. I beg to differ. One day, I shall show him what a real tortilla chip is! For now, doritos had to do.
I got this recipe here.
Juice of 1 lime
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup diced onion...the recipe calls for 1/2 but I found it to be too much
3 tablespoons chopped cilantro/coriander
2 diced roma/plum tomatoes
1 teaspoon minced garlic
~ In a medium bowl, mash the avocados, lime juice, and salt together. Try not to eat a piece of the delicious, fresh avocado! Okay, go for it...I give you permission!
~ Add the onion, cilantro/coriander (I bolded cilantro because coriander doesn't sound as nice. Plus cilantro is American. Freedooom!), tomatoes, and garlic and mix it all together!
~ Refrigerate until cold and serve with some REAL tortilla chips!! Yum yum!
