Bruschetta

Broo-sket-ta. Yes, that's the correct pronunciation, unfortunately! I grew up thinking it was Broo-shet-ta! Then I went to Italy, and I was very wrong!




Bruschetta is one of the easiest, most delicious side dishes ever. If you haven't tried it yet, please do! It goes with any Italian dish, and it's definitely a must-have.




If you haven't noticed, it's super easy with very few ingredients! Just take some French or Italian bread, fry it in oil and butter on both sides, add some chopped tomatoes and basil, and you're set!




This was my best bruschetta recipe yet! Normally I brown the bread with olive oil in the oven, then add the tomatoes and basil. But I watched Julie & Julia, and her genius plan was to fry it in a pan on the stove with butter as well as olive oil! Brill! I happened to have Garlic Olive Oil, so I used that, because bruschetta usually has garlic too!
