Celebrate Christmas Eve with Mince Pies!

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!! What is everyone doing today? Mr. Sweets and I are in our pajamas watching A Muppet Christmas Carol, and being disappointed that Home Alone isn't on until Monday. And Home Alone 2 isn't on in the next week! It's my Christmas tradition to watch them, and my US DVDs don't work in our DVD player. Sad face.

P.S. I just found out that Miss Piggy's real name is Emily! What is THAT!

So, in England, Mince Pies are a Christmas favorite and made every year. Personally, I don't like them, but Mr. Sweets does so he gets all 10 of them!

Sorry for the blurry picture! So, Mince Pies. "Mince Meat" is made from dried fruit and some other stuff I don't care to know! All you need is some shortcrust pastry, a jar of Mince Meat, and some milk to brush on top!

So if you like spiced dessert with a touch of sweetness and bites of dried fruit, this is for you! It's best when warm, and Mr. Sweets eats it with ice cream.

What we ate for Thanksgiving....

Wow so I never posted any pictures from our Thanksgiving meal! Oops!

We were so fortunate to have my best friend and her fiance come over the Saturday after Thanksgiving to help celebrate one of my favorite holidays! Being in England, no one celebrates it here, and, well, I'm American so we must celebrate it!!

So here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving! I hope yours was just as good!

Here's a glimpse of me sauteeing some onions, yum! And yes, I do have many tattoos!

The carnivores ate this pretty dish! Chicken stuffed with Boursin (garlic and herbs) cheese and wrapped in bacon, green beans with onions and garlic, sage and onion stuffing, homemade macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes all smothered in gravy!

This is what the vegetarian (me, the only one...sad face) ate! I had the Quorn Family Roast, which I wouldn't recommend because it was quite dry. My Momma told me to bake it with Cream of Mushroom soup, so I shall try that another time! The rest of the meal was the same as the Carnivores!

And let's not forget the pumpkin pie!! This was the first time I ever made a pumpkin pie, and it was a success! Although, I will never deal with cloves again in my life. They were so gross and ruined my little food processor.

Overall, it was a great day filled with much love! I enjoyed cooking for my fiance and friends, and I am looking forward to cooking for Christmas!

Although, you probably won't see those pictures until a month after Christmas...oops.

The Infamous Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Every year since 2006 around Thanksgiving time, I make these delightful Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are *always* a hit, even though they are an odd combination!

These cookies are seriously the awesomest ever! Fun story...when Mr. Sweets and I first started dating, he came over to my house and was subject to watching me make these cookies! So they forever remind me of that time :)

Anyway! Make these! Do it! Everyone will love you for it! Especially me if you send me some...

Smooches!! xoxo

I'd also like to say Happy Birthday to my wonderful cousin, Frankie, who passed away last February :( I love you, Frankie!
